I actually still photograph in exactly the same way as I did when I started: finding a peculiar horizon when the weather is nice and capturing it. I like to adhere to this uninhibited starting point. At the same time, I intend to give a twist to what is put in pictures and provide an image that involves viewers in the story. This has nothing to do with consciously looking for something strange or abstract. Spontaneity remains important. As a result of my extensive experience and varied projects, I can add command to this: technical command naturally, as well as command over what I want to show, up to a level where the subject is entirely dissected, as seen in my more recent work. It is this range that might characterise my photography best and is a diversity I love to explore, if only to stay close to the spontaneous photographer from those days.
