FEP European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award 2010

Set your photographic mind free!FEP European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award 2010 opens for entries on October 1st.Supported by Towergate Camerasure.September 2010The aim of this award is to reward and stimulate creative initiatives by professional photographers, often bound to assignment work. The competition will be judged by a panel of international judges with Fine Art Photographer Pascal Baetens, Master Qualified European Photographer, as chairman. “Last year’s competition was a great success with many fine images submitted. We as judges had a wonderfully hard time going through the images finding the 10 finalists. There were many interesting original images there, that made the judges shiver with joy.”2009 winner, Tom Jones, says: “It’s important to win in the first place for your self to know, that your images are appreciated by others. Secondly it’s helpful to get a lot of free publicity and a reputation around the award. From my point of view it’s a prestigious competition to win.””In the commercial world of portraiture, advertising or reportage etc, the photographer is often bound to vizualising the client’s dreams. This can be a creative challenge, but is also limiting in its nature. With this FEP European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award we celebrate the free unlimited creative interpretation of visual input from all over Europe”, says FEP President Neil Warner. There will be no subcategories. Each entrant may submit up to 3 pictures. Pictures already entered into another FEP Competition will not be eligible. The winning images will be displayed on the FEP Web Site and might travel as an exhibition. The international Jury will consist of at least 5 experts nominated by the FEP and the Jury’s decisions will be final. The winners will be awarded at a special ceremony at the Second FEP European Congress of Professional Photographers, to be held in Lyon, France, on February 6th to 8th 2011. The awards will consist of certificates and an “FEP European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award” trophy.
