World Photographic Cup 2018

World Photographic Cup 2018 is opening soon: are you ready for a new exciting ride?

The edition number 5 of this amazing photographic team competition, created on 2013 by FEP and PPA, will open on July 1, 2017.

About 35 countries in the last years entered the World Photographic Cup, the one of a kind Olympic styled team competition. New entries are announced from South America and other continents, making the contest really global.
Which country will take over the top spot from team Portugal? United States, Russia, (2nd and 3rd place finishers in 2017) or one of the other about 30 countries from 4 continents, which had outstanding submissions and participated in the 4 previous editions? Will the European double defending champions be ready to face a new challenge coming for across the oceans?
In the WPC the most talented photographers represent their country and compete for individual gold, silver and bronze medals in all the 6 categories, while the national teams as a whole will represent the countries, and the best team will grab the WORLD PHOTOGRAPHIC CUP 2018!
Winners announcement: after the amazing ceremonies in USA, France, Portugal and Japan… next year the WPC winners announcement will be held in cooperation with the AIPP, on May 6th, 2018, at SeaWorld – Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

FETA Award 2017 is OPEN for entries

FETA logoOKThe European Award for photographic students and young photographers under the age of 30

The FEP Emerging Talent Award 2017, now on its fifth edition, is open for entries!

The FETA is aimed for European photographic students and young photographers under the age of 30. The competition opens for entries today May 15 and will close on September 15. 

The FEP – FETA award is held in collaboration with a number of Universities and Colleges throughout Europe, aiming to recognize the high standard of photographic image making taking place in Europe by final year University students and newly qualified young photographers.

The entry fee is only 20€ and each portfolio will be evaluated by 3 international judges; feedback is also given to all participants. This is an excellent opportunity for the students to test their skills against others from different countries.

The winner of “The Emerging Talent Award” will receive a certificate during the FETA Award ceremony. All those who received awards will be invited to collect their prize and FEP may contribute to their travel expenses.

FEP confirm its full support to the WPC

FEP acknowledge that the WPC has demonstrated an exceptional value in stimulating the pride and the recognition of the professional photographers, of their associations and countries, creating friendships and uniting Professional Photographers world-wide.  

The FEP is proud to have instigated the WPC, together with the PPA sister association, and is very happy of the growing global recognition and success of the contest. 

As the representative of the whole European international community of professional photographers, FEP confirm its full support to the WPC, and invite all member associations to start the procedure to enter the edition 2018 with a national team.

QEP-MQEP session July 2017: registrations are open

We remind you that the registrations for the next QEP and MQEP judging session are open to te FEP members.
The meeting will take place at the Falmouth University, in UK, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 of July 2017. 
Deadline for sending the application form is May 15.

FEP General Assembly meeting 2017 report


On Monday, April 3 2017, FEP held its annual General Assembly in the majestic "Aula Consiliare" of the "Palazzo degli Elefanti", historical Town Hall of Catania.

In the General Assembly, 22 FEP member associations were represented. The meeting has been held with the presence of the Major of Catania Enzo Bianco as long as the city counselor Lanfranco Zappalà. 
The General Assembly was a part of the fifth FEP Photo Days event; during the Photo Days the audience could attend presentations from 3 MQEP photographers, Günther Egger, Tiina Haring and Antonio Barrella. 
The annual FEP Professional Photographer of the Year  - competition’s award ceremony was also a part of the Photo Day, this time also joined by the FEP Photo Book Prize.
The winners of these competitions were Peter Cakovsky from Slovakia (Professional Photographer of the Year 2017) and Wang Hui from China (Photo Book Prize).

During the General Assembly the final budget of 2016 was approved as long as the provisional budget of 2017. FEP also adopted a new system for its membership fees: member countries will be rewarded for actively sending QEP/MQEP applications with reduced membership fees.
The General Assembly also unanimously elected a new President for the term of 2018-2020, Truls Løtvedt, from Norway. 
Congratulations to all of the award winners and to the new President!

The FEP also wants to express its gratitude to Eugenio Li Volsi, a QEP photographer from Sicily and to the presidents of the two Italian FEP member associations Confartigianato Fotografi and CNA Comunicazione for their great effort to make this event happen successfully!
