What is QEP?
The FEP, Federation of European Professional Photographers Associations, introduced in 1999 a single system of qualifications which is recognised and accepted by the 22 member associations of 21 countries within Europe.
This European qualification, which is known as QEP, is based on the long established British system of qualification for professional photographers.
All candidates submit to an international jury, a panel of 12 images, which will be judged in conditions of anonymity and under strict professional conditions.
To date, the FEP has conferred this truly international qualification on 311 photographers from Austria, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Northern Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The QEP label is given in various specialisations such as wedding, portrait, reportage, architecture, advertising, illustration, etc.
What is Master QEP / MEP?
This is a higher qualification award reserved for QEP holders.
QEP Master candidates must present a panel of 20 prints in any size. They may if they wish show supporting evidence e.g. (CDs, videos, books, publications). QEP Masters will receive a certificate and an FEP label badge.
All QEP photographers will receive a letter of invitation to enter the next Master QEP session from the Chairman of the QEP Jury. Should you wish to receive further details about this, please contact Jim Lowe (chairman of the jury): jim@jimlowe.co.uk
