The Federation of European Photographers announces the category winners and the finalist images of the 2009 FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards

The "2009 FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards" which is supported by Epson has just closed, and more than 2,000 entries from 600 photographers in 20 European countries have been evaluated by the international FEP jury with an online vote. The "FEP - Towergate Camerasure European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award" had 550 entries.

The international Judges worked to select the FEP European Professional Social, Commercial and Pictorial Photographers of the Year, as well as the FEP – Towergate Camerasure Fine Art Photograph of the Year.

The category winners are listed below. The FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year was selected from one of the category winners (see article above).

The winners were awarded at a special ceremony which took place at the Photo Museum of Antwerp, Belgium, Waalsekaai 47, on Thursday December 17th, 2009. The overall FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year and the FEP - Towergate Camerasure European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award was announced during the ceremony.

The awards consist of certificates and a magnificent cut glass trophy. Epson printed the finalist images for inclusion in the award collection. The FEP European 2009 Awards Exhibition will be open to the public at the Photo Museum of Antwerp, first floor, from December 15th up to the end of the year. The collection will consist of the top 10 finalists from each category and the top 10 fine art images.

The collection will then be exhibited throughout the year in several European locations, including Madrid, Milan, Lissabon, Moscow, ...

As an acknowledgement of the historic standards reached in the FEP - Towergate Camerasure European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award, Epson awards the winner membership of the Digigraphie® program which represents a world standard in digital fine art printing. The 10 finalist images will be - upon artist agreement - part of a special Digigraphie collection for the FEP 2009 Awards, and as such all the work displayed at the Photo Museum of Antwerp is Digigraphie certified as well.

Epson officially supports the "FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards".

Epson has the right to use the photographs for promotional purposes for one year, publishing the name of the author and the event together with the winning images.
